José Vicente is Principal Economist in BBVA Research, in Emerging Economies Area, particularly in Colombia.
Before joining us he worked at ?Fedesarrollo, Citibank and the Central Bank of Colombia. He also has been lecturer on macroeconomics, international macroeconomics, international finance and economics of regulation at Universidad de los Andes, Universidad del Rosario and Universidad Javeriana-Cali. He holds a Master of ?Economics from University of C?arolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Universidad ?Autonoma de Occidente-Cali

Market volatility in the wake of Brexit was offset by an expected more accommodating tone on the part of developed economies' central banks.

During its August meeting, BanRep’s Board decided to keep its repo rate unchanged at 7.75%. According to the communiqué, six members of the Board voted for interest rate stability while one member voted for a 25bp increase. This is the first time that BanRep publish a voting breakdown.
