Willians Ruiz was an Economist for the BBVA Research Regulation Unit. Since January 2019 he moved to Regulation and Internal Control, in the Regulation unit.

Previously he was a Professor of Monetary Theory and Policy at the University of Carabobo and

researched applied macroeconomics and monetary policy. He has worked and done presentations on inflationary processes, exchange policy and monetary reforms. He has also served as an Adviser on Political Economy and Coordinator of the Economic Studies Unit of the Venezuelan Food Industry Chamber (CAVIDEA).

He earned a Degree in Economics from the University of Carabobo (Venezuela) in 2009 and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Austrian School of King Juan Carlos University (Spain) in 2011.
