Economist
José Gregorio González is an Economist for Venezuela since October 2025. He has three years of experience in macroeconomic analysis and quantitative research, primarily for multilateral and regional Latin American organizations. His core focus has been the design of econometric models for research work in the oil and financial sectors, along with the analysis and monitoring of key variables for emerging economies. All this work is materialized in the production of numerous executive reports and presentations (internal and for clients), complemented by the design of clear charts that help translate complex findings for decision-making.
His professional background includes having been an External Consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he carried out economic research using household surveys and censuses. He applied advanced econometric techniques such as Difference-in-Differences (DD) in statistical software like R or Stata. Additionally, he performed duties in the management, updating, and maintenance of economic databases for CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean) and SELA (Latin American and Caribbean Economic System). He also gained experience in the private sector as a Macroeconomic Analyst at EMFI, tracking key variables of emerging economies to support investment decisions. He is an Economist from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB) and he has participated in and written for the university economic publication Grupo 4:30.
