Maria joined BBVA Research in September 2025 as part of the Financial Systems team.

Previously, she worked at the European Central Bank in the Market Operations division, focusing on the study of financial markets and the collateral framework.

Maria holds a double international degree in Applied Economics from Universidad Carlos III and Paris Dauphine-PSL. She also holds a Master’s in Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets from the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE).

Her main areas of interest include macroeconomics, econometric forecasting models, the application of monetary policy to financial markets, and all aspects related to banking.
