David Sarasa Flores joined BBVA Research in 2023 and works as an Economist in the Global Macroeconomic Scenarios team at BBVA Research. His main areas of interest are fiscal policy and applied econometrics. His research and work have been mainly focused on studying fiscal policy shocks and monitoring the economic impact of the Next Generation EU (NGEU) funds in Spain.

David holds a Double M.Sc. in Economic Growth and Development from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Lund University, receiving the award for the best master's thesis at both universities and winning the Swedish national prize in the second year. He previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Bank of Spain in the Fiscal Policy and Public Sector Unit.
