Andrea Beltrán Cruz

Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a specialisation in Macroeconomics, and a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Her academic work has focused on economic growth, poverty, labour markets and public policy evaluation in emerging economies. Both her bachelor’s thesis and her master’s thesis were awarded the highest academic distinction (10/10).
Before joining BBVA Research, she worked in consulting and the financial sector, where she developed econometric and forecasting models to analyse and predict reputational risk in financial institutions, while contributing to quantitative analysis and risk assessment projects.She is currently a member of the Global Economic Scenarios team at BBVA Research. Her research interests include macroeconomics, applied econometrics, development economics, public policy evaluation and labor economics.
