Jorge Pozo

Jorge Pozo is a Principal economist at BBVA Research in Peru. He joined the BBVA Research team in September 2026. Previously, he served as Head of the Monetary and Credit Aggregates Department at the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), where he also worked as a researcher and held various positions in the Economic Studies Division. His main research areas include monetary policy, financial markets, financial stability, macroprudential policies, and risk-taking.
Jorge holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) and a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the Barcelona School of Economics. His research has been published in international academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Stability, Finance Research Letters, Emerging Markets Review, Latin American Journal of Central Banking, and The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.
He has received recognition for his research achievements, including the First Place (2021) and Second Place (2023) in the Renzo Rossini Award of ASBANC, Second Place in the XXXIII Certamen Permanente de Investigación Manuel Noriega Morales, and an Honorary Mention in the 2022 Central Bank Award Rodrigo Gómez.
