Lucía Crespo Gómez joined BBVA Research in September 2026 as an Economist, working as part of the Economic Modelling team.

She holds a degree in Economics and International Business from Universidad de Alcalá, including an exchange year at Université de Lille, and a Master's in Quantitative Economic Analysis from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Her undergraduate thesis, on Madrid's Low Emission Zone, was awarded with honours (Matrícula de Honor), and her master's thesis, on the impact of Spain's cultural VAT reforms on household spending, is currently being developed into an academic paper.

She has previous experience in economic analysis of foreign trade and in international business development, gained at ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, where she analysed foreign trade statistics and indicators. Her main areas of interest are econometrics, public policy evaluation, macroeconomic forecasting and the Spanish economy.
