Óscar de las Peñas is currently Head of Strategy, Transformation and Efficiency at BBVA Research.
Previously, he has held various positions as Head of Systems Architecture and Technology Infrastructure, both within the BBVA Group—at BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking, Adquira and Uno-e—and at other companies in the financial sector, such as Seguros Ocaso, as well as technology companies such as America Online.
Before taking on management roles, Óscar worked as a consultant at Netscape and Indra.
Óscar holds a Telecommunications Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specializing in Physical Media Transmission and Telematics. For his final degree project, he collaborated with London Underground and Westinghouse Signals. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specializing in Innovation, Technology and Quality.
