Víctor joined BBVA Research in 2023. He is currently an Economist in the Big Data unit, where he focuses his work on high-frequency data analysis and its impact on different dimensions of the economy, using advanced machine learning and econometric techniques.

Previously, at BBVA Research, his research focused on Modeling, assessing the effects that different policies and shocks have had on the economies of Europe and South America.

Before joining BBVA Research, he worked as an international researcher at KU Leuven (University of Leuven), where he served as a teaching assistant for the European Policy Evaluation course and supervised three master’s theses. He also completed research stays at the Bank of Spain and the International Monetary Fund.

He holds a PhD in Economics, summa cum laude, from the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and a Master’s in Quantitative Economics from the University of Alicante.
