Europe Flash: ”Eurozone inflation slowed in December due to the favourable base effect in energy prices, with core inflation remaining stable”
Summary
Inflation slowed in December, as expected, driven by the moderation in energy inflation. This driver is expected to remain in coming moths, but a lower slowdown in oil prices than anticipated combined with the depreciation of the euro suggest that headline inflation should remain slightly above the ECB target at the end of Q1.
