Peru's Big Data Private Consumption Index showed a year-on-year growth of 10.2% in August, the highest rate in three months. This evolution occurs in a context of high inflation but is supported by improving consumer confidence, a strong labor market, and the advancement of spending digitalization.

The Big Data Private Consumption Index grew 7.7% year-on-year in June, marking its fifth consecutive month of deceleration as the positive effects of the extraordinary pension fund withdrawals that began in November 2025.

The Big Data Private Consumption Index maintained strong growth; in January 2026 it increased by 18.3% YoY (19.3% in December and 16.7% in November).

The Big Data Private Consumption Index accelerated again and grew by 19.3 % YoY in December (16.7 % in November, and 7.7 % in October).

In January, the Consumer Big Data index accelerated its growth (+4.6% YoY; December 2023: +2.6% YoY). Over the same period, the Big Data Investment index showed significant growth (+26.6% YoY; December 2023: +4.2% YoY).

In February, BBVA Research's big data consumption index for Peru (inflation-adjusted spending with cards and cash withdrawals) stagnated. In general, spending on most consumption items slowed down, particularly those linked to tourism (excursions and air tickets).

In August, the BBVA consumption indicator grew 25% in real terms with respect to the same month of 2019. The increase in household spending coincides with the increase in household liquidity, relaxation of sanitary isolation measures and further progress in the vaccination process.
