Europe Economic Outlook. Fourth Quarter 2008
The financial shock has finally driven the Euro Area towards recession, which will continue during 2009. The response from the ECB has been “too little, too late”, but it is welcomed and now it needs prompt assistance from a well-designed fiscal expansion, which should be temporary.
