Spain | GDP growth remained stable in 1Q16, fulfilling the expectatives

    Summary

The Spanish economy grew by 0.8% QoQ (3.4% YoY) in 1Q16, which implies a stabilization in activity that is in line with BBVA Research's forecasts. Despite a scenario with bigger uncertainty (both internal and external), recent data suggest that the growth in activity was boosted by domestic demand and, in a lesser way, by net external demand.
