Peru is close to passing a law that establishes the framework for Private Special Economic Zones. This document reviews selected international experiences with such zones. The proposed regulatory framework appears to lack sufficient emphasis on key factors that would be critical to ensuring the success of this initiative.

Poverty stood at 31.8% in 2024, down from 34.6% in 2023 – a reduction of 2.8 percentage points. This means 1.3 million people exited poverty between 2023 and 2024. Overall, between 2012 and 2024, poverty decreased by 9.2 pp, falling from 41% to 31.8%.

We present an econometric model in order to estimate the global and domestic macroeconomic determinants of portfolio flows into Türkiye. Our findings point to the significant relationship between flows and market volatility and economic policy uncertainty on the global side, and risk premium on the domestic front.
