Argentina | Agriculture Outlook. 2026

Argentina establishes itself as a key player in the global agricultural market, excelling in the production of soybeans, corn, wheat, and sunflower. The sector is a crucial source of foreign currency, with agricultural complexes projected to contribute 42% of the country's total exports in 2026.

  • Global agricultural demand will grow by 1.2% annually over the next decade. By 2035, global agricultural production will increase by 13.3%, with a 15.1% rise in animal production and 12.5% in crops.
  • Argentina's combined production of soybeans, corn, wheat, and sunflower reached 125 Mt in 2024/26. The country accounts for 11.3% of global soybean production, 4.3% of corn, 12.6% of sunflower, and 2.6% of wheat.
  • Argentina is the world's leading exporter of soybean oil (45% of the market) and soybean meal (33%), and the third-largest exporter of corn (18%). For the 2025/26 season, exports are projected at 45 Mt of corn and 29 Mt of soybean meal.
  • The adoption of precision technologies is high: 79% of producers use seed monitors and 63% use autopilots. The area monitored in real-time reaches 47%, equivalent to 18 million hectares.
