On March 13, 2025, the results of the 2024 National Financial Inclusion Survey were presented. This information is used to construct several indicators related to financial product ownership and participation in basic financial courses for different groups.

  • Based on the results of the recent publication of the National Financial Inclusion Survey, it is observed that in 2024, 76.5% of adults (18-70 years old) had at least one formal savings, credit, insurance, or Retirement Fund Administrators account, representing an increase of 8.7 percentage points (pp) compared to 2021 (effected by the COVID-19 pandemic) and 8.2pp compared to 2018 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).
  • Nationally, the percentage of people with at least one savings product showed significant growth. In 2024, 63.0% had at least one savings product, 15.9 percentage points higher than the proportion in 2018 (47.1%) and 13.9 percentage points higher than the proportion in 2021 (49.1%).
  • In 2024, 37.3% of the adult population had at least one credit product. This figure is 6.2 percentage points higher than the percentage in 2018 (31.1%) and 4.6 percentage points higher than the percentage in 2021 (32.7%).
  • In 2024, 22.9% of the adult population had at least one insurance policy; although the proportion was 1.9 percentage points higher than the proportion in 2021 (21.0%), it was not enough to exceed the proportion in 2018 (25.4%).
  • Nationally, there has been a decrease in the proportion of adults who have taken a course on how to save, how to budget, or how to use credit responsibly, from 8.3% in 2018 to 6.0% in 2024 (-2.3 percentage points).
