Summary

Total consumption is slightly higher than in the same period a year ago (+0.5 percentage points). Consumption of goods rebounded slightly in the last week while consumption of services remained at low levels.

• Fuel spending shows no signs of recovery and remains 20% below pre-pandemic levels, similar to the Aug-20 record.
• With the improvement in mobility indicators in recent days, spending in online channels is slowing down and is being replaced by spending in physical channels.
• Consumption so far in May has slowed in Cali, Bucaramanga and Cartagena, while it has accelerated in Bogota, Medellin and Barranquilla.
