The Road

Having seen the update that various institutions have made on growth scenarios for the Spanish economy over the last week, I was reminded of a quote from Cormac McCarthy's book "The Road."

• As he puts it: "People were always getting ready for tomorrow. I didn't believe in that. Tomorrow wasn't getting ready for them. It didn't even know they were there."
• The future may surprise us and show a complete lack of empathy for the preparations we make. However, it would be extremely irresponsible of us to ignore all of the warning signs that we are seeing.
