The Spanish economy is expected to grow by around 2.4% annually in 2026 and 2027, although with a heterogeneous regional landscape. Growth will be led by tourism- and service-oriented areas this year, while industrial regions could recover in 2027 thanks to stronger European demand.

Economic activity relies more on domestic demand and services, and with greater external risks, leading to growing divergences between regions.

Between 2025 and 2027, regional growth will increasingly rely on domestic demand. In 2025, service-oriented regions stand out; in 2026, consumption and investment will gain prominence, and in 2027, industry and exports in the northern regions will become more relevant.

The GDP growth forecast has been revised upward across the board for 2025 and 2026. The revision is due to the resilience of economic activity, especially exports of both goods and services, as well as investment playing a more important role in the recovery than previously thought.

In 2024, the Region of Murcia's GDP could have grown by 3.6%, and is expected to increase by 2.9% in 2025 and 1.6% in 2026. The dynamism of the public sector, tourism and consumer spending, and the recovery of agricultural exports explain this year's strength, while domestic demand is gaining ground.

Tourism and consumption continue to drive growth toward the Mediterranean and the islands in 2025, but the prospect of a slowdown persists toward 2026 in a context of high uncertainty that delays the acceleration of export-producing regions.

In 2024, prospects will improve, with service exporting communities benefiting most, while stagnant exports limit the progress of many industrial regions. In 2025, growth moderates and shifts to areas with less tourism weight.
